Cologne, 3 May 2006 - DocCheck AG, Cologne, (ISIN DE0005471007 // WKN
547100) achieved sales totalling 3.1 million euro in the first
quarter of 2006 - growth of 21 per cent in comparison with the first
quarter of 2005 (2.6 million euro). Earnings before interest and
taxes (EBIT) rose to 328,000 euro. In the previous year DocCheck AG
recorded a break-even result (8,000 euro). Therefore, two-thirds of
the operating result of the whole financial year 2005 was generated
in the first quarter alone (502,000 euro). The EBIT margin in the
first quarter was 10.5 per cent. The result of ordinary business
activities rose by 187 per cent from 159,000 euro to 456,000 euro.
Profit per share was 5 cents (previous year: 2 cents). At the end of
the first quarter, liquid assets and current-asset securities came to
16.6 million euro, or 2.86 euro per share. Compared to the same
quarter in 2005, the Communication Division (antwerpes & partner ag)
registered, as a result of a series of successful sales
presentations, a clear increase in sales of 54 per cent, from 1.1
million euro to 1.8 million euro. The divisional result increased by
184 per cent from 106,000 euro to 301,000 euro. The DocCheck Division
achieved sales of 1.4 million euro - 5 per cent below the previous
year's level, as, in comparison with the previous year, a major
annual repeat order in the retail business will not be recorded under
sales until the second quarter. By contrast, the divisional result of
the DocCheck Division, losses of 82,000 euro in the previous year,
turned out positively in the first quarter, with profits of 25,000
euro.

As a result, for the year as a whole, the DocCheck Group anticipates
that sales in the Communication Division, as well as in the DocCheck
Division, could increase by at least 10 per cent and profit per share
in the Group could be 3 or 4 cents higher than last year's level of
11 cents.
