Paris (euro adhoc) - Motion Network Holding (MNH) heads South.

MNH and TV4YOU will be partners for Southern Europe: Spain and
Portugal. TV4YOU is ready to operate as MNH representative in the
Iberian Peninsula. It already represents Chello media, MGM, Al
Jazeera international, Vodafone, Cabovisao, Portugal telecom.
Thanks to this wide experience, TV4YOU is fully operational and
ready to go.

Ninety-eight percent of Spanish households have a television set,
86% have a color receiver (in contrast, 76% have a radio). On
average, Spaniards watch about three and a half hours of television
a day, mostly in the afternoon and late evening hours. Five
national channels now serve a Spanish population of 39.4 million
and a television audience of 29.2 million. Of these five, two, TVE- I
and TVE-2 are state-owned, financed by subsidy and advertising.
Antena -3 and Telecinco are private channels, financed by
advertising ; Canal+ is private, financed by subscription. 3
million TV households were connected with 1 million subscribing
to cable television in the year 2000. In the 1990s, TVE's subsidy
has not helped it overcome the growing debt of the company, despite
its stable position in the market. In contrast, the private
firms have been profitable.

Ninety-six percent of Portuguese households have a television. In
Portugal, satellite is only proposed as a substitute for cable in
some rural region, thus in comparison with cable the number of
subscribers is very small. In the fourth quarter of 2007 Portugal
had 1.96 million subscribers to the services of subscription
TV supported by cable distribution networks or satellite (DTH) -
around 2% more than the number recorded in the previous quarter. As
of the end of December 2007, the total number of cabled households
for all operators stood at around four million, 63 thousand more
households than in the previous quarter, an increase of 1.6%. For
the same period the number of subscribers to the cable television
services, 1.49 million subscribers, grew by around 1%, an addition
of 20 thousand customers. Meanwhile, year-on-year, there was
an increase of around 5%, representing the addition of around 69
thousand new subscribers. At the end of 2007, Cable
television service subscribers represented around 27% of all
Portuguese households. At the end of 2007, the television
distribution service using Direct To Home (DTH) technology had 476
thousand subscribers, 3.9% more than in the previous quarter and 9.3%
more than in the same quarter of 2006. In absolute terms, this
translates to 18 thousand more subscribers during the quarter. The
Telecine channels, the cinema channels produced by joint venture
Premium TV, are actually packaged in Brazil and beamed to
Portugal. This results often in an erratic picture quality and in
the fact that subtitles are in Brazilian and not in Portuguese.
There is no Portuguese cinema channel.
