Berlin (euro adhoc) - Berlin, March 30, 2009 - Beta Systems Software
AG (BSS, ISIN DE0005224406) today confirms the preliminary results
already released for the fiscal year 2008 by presenting its audited
and certified annual financial statements.

Earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) climbed to EUR 6.4 million
(2007: EUR 5.8 million). Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation
and amortization (EBITDA) rose to EUR 10.3 million (2007: EUR 9.4
million). Alongside significantly higher earnings before tax (EBT) of
EUR 6.0 million (2007: EUR 4.9 million), net income for the year came
to EUR 4.8 million (2007: EUR 2.3 million), thus putting the
year-on-year increase in consolidated net income (under IFRS) at
108%, which is more than double the previous year's figure. Earnings
per ordinary share has thus risen to EUR 0.36 (2007: EUR 0.24), which
is also a new record. The result of Beta Systems Software AG,
calculated under HGB, came to EUR 1.3 million for the year 2008
(2007: EUR -3.0 million) and was also clearly positive.

Revenues with software licenses were raised to EUR 29.2 million in
comparison with the previous year's figure (2007: EUR 29.0 million).
By contrast, revenues from services remained unchanged at EUR 14.5
million. Hardware revenues with scanners rose on the back of a number
of major orders placed in the new system business to EUR 6.2 million
(2007: EUR 3.3 million), while maintenance revenues fell marginally
to EUR 40.5 million (2007: EUR 41.8 million). All in all consolidated
revenues climbed by EUR 1.8 million to EUR 90.4 million in 2008
(2007: EUR 88.6 million).

Based on the Company's stable market position, strengthened in the
wake of additions to the holdings portfolio, such as the effective
takeover of the DETEC Group in 2009, management anticipates that
raising revenues and profit should be possible in the current fiscal
year as well.
