shaPE Capital AG ("shaPE") reports a total net asset value of CHF
143.3 million at year end 2009. On a per share basis the net asset
value decreased by 11.1% over the year.

The turbulences on the global financial markets led to significant
devaluations on private equity investments until mid-year 2009. In
the second half of 2009, valuations started to improve again backed
by a stabilization in EBITDA´s and higher market comparables. The
overall NAV decrease of shaPE relates to unrealized devaluations in
the underlying portfolio as well as to a realized write-down related
to the secondary sale that was conducted in the first half of 2009 in
order to de-risk the portfolio, i.e. to generate cash and to reduce
unfunded commitments.

In September 2009 shaPE announced the implementation of a realization
strategy. With the March 2010 announcement of a further sale of three
mainly unfunded commitments and a new CHF 12 million credit line, the
board is convinced that shaPE is now in a stable position for an
optimal execution of the realization strategy.
