 ISS Recommends Dong-A Pharmaceutical Co. Shareholders Vote 'For' Nominees Proposed by Shareholder Group and 'Against' Management Nominees

Moon-Seok Kang today announced that Institutional Shareholder
Services (ISS), a leading independent proxy voting advisory service,
whose clients include hundreds of institutional investors, mutual
funds, money managers and other fiduciaries, has issued its
recommendation advising its clients to support and vote For the slate
of nominees that he and fellow shareholders of Dong-A Pharmaceutical
Co. (KSE: 000640.KS) have nominated for election. ISS also recommends
that clients vote Against the nominees sponsored by Management.
In its recommendation, ISS stated that:
-- "Because we are aware of serious corporate governance problems with
the company and its board, we recommend that shareholders vote against
all of the management nominees.
Vote AGAINST Items 2.1-2.9."
-- "Given the company's corporate governance issues and because the
inside director nominees by the dissident shareholders are indeed the
ones who have managed the company over the years going through the
painful restructuring process after the Asian Financial Crisis, as
well as the backbone of the company's R&D development, we recommend
that shareholders vote for all of the shareholders nominees.
Vote FOR Items 2.10-2.18"
