Asslar, November 18, 2010. Today, Pfeiffer Vacuum Technology AG,
Asslar, (ISIN: DE0006916604) placed 897,059 new shares out of the
capital increase by way of utilization of the authorized capital
against cash contributions, which the Executive Board has decided on
and the Supervisory Board has approved on November 17, 2010, at an
issue price of EUR 82.50 per share. Hereby the company's share
capital will increase from EUR 22,964,736.00 by EUR 2,296,471.04 to
EUR 25,261,207.04. The new shares were placed with institutional
investors by way of an accel-erated bookbuilding process.
Shareholders' subscription rights were therefore excluded.

After registration of the execution of the capital increase with the
commercial register, the new shares are expected to be admitted for
trading without a prospectus on November 19, 2010 in the regulated
market (regulierter Markt) (Prime Standard) on the Frankfurt Stock
Exchange and to be included in the existing listing presumably on
November 22, 2010. The new shares are entitled to dividends as from
January 1, 2010.

Pfeiffer Vacuum will receive gross proceeds of approximately EUR 74
million which shall be used to partially refinance the intended
acquisition of Alcatel-Lucent´s Vacuum Technology Unit ("Adixen") as
announced on November 3, 2010.

Furthermore, the Executive Board of Pfeiffer Vacuum Technology AG has
decided to sell via the stock exchange up to 456,352 of the company´s
own shares held as treasury shares.
