Munich-based Data Modul AG, the European market leader in the field
of display technology, was back on the road to success in the 2010
financial year and continuing on that path in the first quarter of
2011.

Revenue in the first quarter of the current financial year increased
by 22.3% to 34.5 million euros (2010: 28.2 million euros). Broken
down into business segments, the Displays segment generated revenues
of 21.7 million euros (2010: 16.8 million euros), whereas the Systems
segment saw revenues of 12.8 million euros (2010: 11.4 million
euros). In the first quarter of the current financial year, order
entry increased by 40.7% to 41.5 million euros (2010: 29.5 million
euros). Order backlog totaled 74.9 million euros (2010: 65.1 million
euros). In the first three months of 2011, the export ratio came to
33.1% (2010: 30.7%). In the first quarter of 2011, EBIT increased by
40.0% to 2.1 million euros (2010: 1.5 million euros). The net income
for the year in the same period totaled 1.4 million euros (2010: 0.9
million euros) translating into earnings per share of 0.39 euros in
the first three months of 2011 compared to 0.30 euros during the same
period of 2010. It should be noted that the number of shares
increased by 10% in May 2010. Due to a change in our internal
organizational structure, the composition and designation of the
reportable segments have changed as well. Thus, our business is now
divided into two business segments, Displays and Systems, and the
respective information from earlier reporting periods has been
adjusted accordingly.

As long as nothing unexpected happens, we expect a marked revenue
growth and positive earnings for Data Modul in 2011. In that, we are
benefiting from the economic upturn in Europe and the USA, our most
important markets, as well as from further integration of our
affiliate company Conrac. We will continue to focus on the
development of customized systems and solutions for our customers. At
the same time, we have been targeting less volatile markets that
offer higher and - particularly important - sustainable
profitability.
