In 2012, the Berner Oberland-Bahnen AG achieved a revenue of 31.9
million francs and an annual profit of CHF 379,000. The positive
result is thanks to the strong demand in regional passenger
transport.

The Bernese Oberland Railway (BOB) was able to profit from the
Jungfrau Railway's centenary year in 2012. Never before have so many
guests travelled on the Interlaken to Lauterbrunnen and Grindelwald
sections as in 2012. With traffic income of 10.7 million francs, the
Bernese Oberland Railway was able to achieve a plus of 8.5% in
comparison to 2011. As is the case with many other pre-Alp rail &
cableways, the Schynige Platte Railway suffered from a drop in the
number of holiday guests from traditional European markets. Traffic
income decreased by 15.9%.

The Berner Oberland-Bahnen AG looks towards an interesting future.
Ground-breaking investments are planned. With the construction of the
700-meter-long Buechi Tunnel, the risk of services on the section to
Grindelwald being interrupted by natural hazards will soon be
eliminated and passenger comfort as well as timetable stability
increased. The existing tunnel and gallery must be replaced because
of the structural condition and current regulations.
