San Jose, California (ots/PRNewswire) -
- Atmel's AT91 Smart ARM Microcontrollers, Integrated With Jungo's USBware - Embedded USB Software Solutions - Provide Developers With a Complete Hardware and Software Host/Device Production-Ready USB Solution
Atmel(R) Corporation (Nasdaq: ATML), a global leader in the development and fabrication of advanced semiconductor solutions, and Jungo(R) Software Technologies, a leading provider of USB/PCI software solutions, announced today the availability of Jungo's USBware(TM) Embedded USB Software Stacks for Atmel's Smart ARM(R) Microcontrollers. Compliant with the USB specifications, Jungo's host and device stacks provide high quality, production ready, and fully featured implementations of the Universal Serial Bus standard protocols and device class drivers.
"USBWare provides a simple and ready-to-use USB stack solution for our ARM microcontrollers," commented Jean-Christophe Zettel, Manager of Atmel's ARM-based Microcontroller Application Group. "The composite classes for the USB devices, the OHCI stacks for small RTOSes and the wide range of operating systems supported make USBware a very attractive solution for the majority of the system designers working with AT91 microcontrollers."
"Jungo is happy to enhance its existing partnership for Atmel with USBware, Jungo's complete and AT91-ready software implementation of the USB protocol," said Oren Manor, USBware Product Manager with Jungo's Software Tools Division. "This collaboration provides embedded engineers with complete USB hardware and software solution, allowing our mutual customers to reach a design win quickly and bring their USB products to market without delays."
The AT91 ARM(TM)7- and ARM(TM)9-based microcontrollers include on-chip device and host USB functionality and come equipped with a wide range of third party software including BSPs for all leading RTOSes. Jungo's USBware features an operating system independent implementation of the USB protocol, facilitating development with any operating system, including common RTOS such as eCos/eCosPRO, uCOS-II, OSE, ThreadX, Linux(R), Vxworks(R) WinCE, XPe, Integrity(R), pSOS, MQX, Nucleus, embOS and proprietary 16/32-bit operating systems. The partnership offers a pre-validated and complete USB software implementation including low-level controller drivers for the AT91 host and device cores and standard class drivers, allowing developers to easily incorporate USB connectivity.
