Banco Sabadell Signs 107 Million Euro Services Contract With IBM
Sabadell, Spain: 12 September 2005. Banco Sabadell, one of Spain’s biggest banking groups, and IBM today announced a 10-year agreement for IBM to manage the bank’s central information technology infrastructure. The contract is expected to save the bank about 42 million euros.
The agreement includes management of Banco Sabadell's mainframe environment, data processing center and security and recovery of its entire infrastructure, protecting the bank’s business from possible interruptions.
Banco Sabadell will have greater flexibility to respond quickly to business needs and a variable cost structure will enable the bank to scale its services up or down according to demand. In this way, Banco Sabadell will be able to focus on high-priority areas, providing greater value to customers with increased efficiency.
