quarter 2010

Salzgitter Group continues positive results trend

As expected, the positive results trend of Salzgitter Group continued
in the third quarter of the fiscal year 2010.

Within the period from July to September, consolidated external sales
amounted to EUR 2,158.4 million (third quarter 2009: EUR 1,834.6
million). The company achieved a pre tax result of EUR 10.8 million
(third quarter 2009: EUR -66.1 million).

Included in the pre tax result is a EUR 35.4 million negative impact
resulting from US-Dollar end of period valuation as well as a
non-periodic profit of EUR 19.9 million.

Further details regarding the results of the third quarter can be
obtained from the interim report for the first nine months which is
supposed to be published on 12 November 2010.
